It’s invigorating, challenging and FUN!
Aims:
To introduce people to the joys of Taiko.
To teach Taiko rhythms in an easy drumming and percussion session.
To enable the group to learn rhythms and play together.
To create a safe exploratory and fun environment in which participants gain confidence in self expression.
Content:
Gentle physical warm-up.
Introduction to technique, rhythms and playing as a group.
Learning to play separate parts.
Putting the parts together to play Taiko pieces.
Learning Outcomes:
Learning about Taiko rhythms, and group playing.
Listening and taking part in group activity.
Individual and group progression.
Creativity with support from the tutors.
Number of Students: 6 – 12
Course Requirements: A two hour morning, afternoon or evening session.
Resources: A wide range of Taiko drums.
